Life in breeding

The visitor who arrives at the Regina Cornaro fosterage, in the nice and sunny plains of Venice, can only be pleasantly surprised to be in a place where, in addition to the scent of the sea so close, there is an air of serenity and saturated love.
He will experience the feeling of being close in a sweet embrace that wraps you up and looking around you can only be moved to a tender smile of complacent before the vision of a whirlwind of activity that involves a whole family.
In a secluded corner Susanna intent to the preparation and training of the dogs next to the exhibition;
further Gianfranco all taken from the continuous maintenance of the lawn and equipment. In the large veranda Nicole that with infinite patience and love toiletries taking turns on the adult dogs and out on the lawn the little Carol occupied in an endless game with the puppies.
In the shade of a leafy tree, lying and sleepy, females admire a group of puppies, chubby, lively, curious trot under the watchful eye of their mother while males are competing for the mark of the territory.
This is the Regina Cornaro fosterage; a kind of “family home” where dachshunds are the center and the object of the love and care of the whole family as an integral part.

Regina Cornaro do not produce many litters in a year just to be able to reserve, to the dam and puppies before then, all the attention and care needed.

The breeding males and females mares are all owned and therefore visible at the fosterage.They represent the best of what has been achieved through years of careful selection. They are all champions and all the puppies that are born from them are beautiful, healthy and temperamentally suited to family life.

The vet regularly visits the farm to ensure the health of dachshunds and during pregnancy checks daily the mother and the fetus with almost maniacal attention.

Until weaning accomplished (70-75 days ) Puppies live free in the house and in the garden of the family. Are appropriately introduced to socialization with other dogs and with humans. Every day is given to each of them the right amount of time for hygiene and grooming, cuddling and playing.
After this period they can be sold and this is a time of great “heaviness of heart.” On the one hand the knowledge that you cannot hold all of them, the other pain of detachment mitigated only by the certainty that little dog will continue their happy life and will go to cheer and fill the daily lives of people who have wanted and who will love them with infinite love.
For this reason Regina Cornaro carefully select the people that want to accommodate a dachshund in their lives. And for the same reason the fosterage RC, even after the adoption, continues to liaise with the new owner, to provide expertise and to give all possible support following the animal across the path of life.
The puppy, with a medical certificate attesting the good and healthy constitution, is sold dewormed, vaccinated and microchipped, and enrollment in the canine ENCI (pedigree).
